Gladwyne, Pennsylvania
Gladwyne, Pennsylvania is located along Mill Creek, in Lower Merion Township. It is in the Pennsylvania Main Line, in Montgomery County, and is part of the Philadelphia metro area. It has a population of about 4,000. Gladwyne was established by Welsh Quakers in 1682, and was originally called "Merion Square". Wealthy Philadelphians started building summer homes in Gladweyne soon after the American Civil War. It is home to the Gladwyne Civic Club, Mill Creek Valley Park and the Philadelphia Country Club.
